Happiness is Handwoven into every piece…

I live in the backcountry of San Diego. High in the mountains, my studio and home is anchored in granite bedrock-on a parcel of land from the California Land Grant of 1850. With Indian Reservations on all sides, we enjoy “life on the rocks”.

Inspired by magnificent sunsets and the textures of the land, I started weaving and found my soul. A dozen looms later, I am still at peace when I weave. The rhythm of the beater and shuttles has a way of breathing life into every article.

I also spin, felt, braid (Kumihimo), knit, crochet and create tapestries. All of my work is highly detailed. Many of my yarns are hand spun and dyed. I weave several items from one warp. (see picture)*

I offer a variety of Handwoven articles…

  • Gift-ables such as Tablecloths, Napkins and Table Runners

  • Personal items including Shawls, Scarves and Ponchos

Looking for custom orders? I can create gifts that reflect an aura of warmth.

Note: Shipping is USPS Priority, unless otherwise noted in item description.

I found my true soul in weaving….

IMG_0096.jpg

I guess you could call me a “Fiber Junkie”. As a retired mom, I have finally found time to express my life-long relationship with texture. Spinning, knitting, crocheting, braiding, felting and weaving have become my muse.

Although I have always woven a variety of textures into my life- with careers in Horticulture, Pharmacy, Nursing, Massage Therapy and Mom roles, I found my true soul in weaving.

It all started when I was working for a landscape architect. His wife offered me a small table floor loom. This “gift” ignited my curiosity and with it, came my new voice.

My first loom was a 4-harness, Leclerc Dorothy with treadles. Soon after, I joined the Michigan League of Handweavers (in Ann Arbor) and developed a wealth of knowledge and skills, while forging lifelong friendships. Still a member today, I haven’t found a more dedicated fiber group than MLH. Later, I experimented with Norwood, Cranbrook, AVL, Fireside (for floor & tapestry), Schacht Baby Wolf and Louet Klik.

Today I weave with a computer-driven AVL, Cranbrook and Schacht. Together, we weave new memories.

When I’m not weaving, you can find me cycling around Southern California.
